British actor Clive Owen arrived in Karlovy Vary on Thursday. At Saturday’s closing ceremony, he will receive the film festival president’s award from Jiří Bartoška. About a hundred people waited outside the Pupp Hotel for the Golden Globe and Bafta award winners.

Born in Coventry, Owen graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. He began his career with the Young Vic Theater Company in London, where he played several roles in Shakespearean productions.
After his film debut in the title Vroom from 1988, he appeared mainly in television pictures and series, among the most successful was the role of the charismatic Stephen Crane in the crime saga The Gambler.

In 2021, he portrayed Bill Clinton in the third series of the anthology American Crime Story.
