Olympiacos beat Aston Villa 4-2 this Thursday (2), in the first game of the Conference League semi-finals. At Villa Park, the winning goals for the Greek team came from El Kaabi, who scored three times, and Santiago Hezze. Ollie Watkins and Diaby did for the home team. Brazilian Douglas Luiz, in fact, committed a penalty and, at the end of the match, wasted a penalty.

The return game is scheduled for May 9th, in Greece, at 4pm (Brasília time).

How was the game

Away from home, Olympiacos took control of the first half. After 15 minutes, El Kaabi sent the ball into the back of the net, but the linesman flagged it offside. However, VAR called the referee and confirmed the goal. Eight minutes later, again with El Kaabi, the Greek team increased the score. In fact, in the play, the attacker dribbled past the goalkeeper, with great quality. In the final stretch, at 45′, Ollie Watkins reduced the score for the home team.

In the second half, Diaby tied the match after six minutes. However, the home team did not count on Douglas Luiz touching the ball inside the area. From the penalty spot, El Kaabi found the net, his third goal of the game. The fourth came at 21′, when Argentine Santiago Hezze took a risk from outside the area and, counting on a deflection, the ball went into the string.

Behind on the scoreboard, Aston Villa launched an attack. In fact, that’s how he got a penalty in the 40th minute. However, Brazilian Douglas Luiz sent the ball out.
