The head coach of “Qarabag” Gurban Gurbanov fell into the sphere of interests of another club.
As reported by İdman.biz with reference to the Turkish website Fotospor, the 52-year-old specialist may become a candidate for the post of head coach of Besiktas.
The football director of the Turkish club Samet Aybaba is in favor of having him on his team. Although the main task of the specialist who took part in watching the 1/8 finals of the Europa League between Bayer and Qarabag (3:2) was to observe the players, Aybaba was more impressed by the work of the head coach. He spoke positively about the head coach and two players. The specialist liked the performance of Qarabag players Abdullah Zubir and Juninho.
According to Photospor, possible replacements for Gurbanov are also Okan Buruk (Galatasaray) and Ismail Kartal (Fenerbahce), whose contracts expire at the end of the season. However, since the resignation of Besiktas head coach Fernando Santos is expected, Aibaba is interested in replacing him with an Azerbaijani specialist.
