GREAT REPORT – For more than a year, Iranian photographer Ebrahim Noroozi, based in Kabul, has followed the slow decline of the country since the Taliban returned to power in August 2021.

Erasure of women in the public space, collapse of the economy, Ebrahim Noroozi documents the sad reality of the Islamist regime. An exclusive report exhibited in Perpignan at the Visa pour l’image festival.

Telling this photographer is not easy. His talent is obvious. His sensitivity transpires in each of his shots. His passion is imprinted in each of his images. Ebrahim Noroozi is however a man of few words. Speaking is a test. Indulging in oneself is a struggle to be waged against one’s nature. The verbiage is, in his opinion, useless. And for good reason, his images speak for themselves. They express what he has to say about the world.

Ebrahim Noroozi was born in Tehran in 1980. He only knew the obscurantism of the mullahs in his country. And yet, he chose light, that of art, of beauty, of photography, to precisely highlight the injustices, the suffering of this world. He got into photography in 2005.
