The staff at the Sachsenklinik are shocked; after a traffic accident, their colleague, Dr. Philipp Brentano, seriously injured, was taken to the Saxony Clinic. Four doctors are fighting for his life in the operating room, but have to stop early because Brentano is suffering from inexplicable cardiac arrhythmias. The anesthesist, Dr. Kathrin Globisch, does not manage to get the complications under control. When Philipp’s condition rapidly deteriorates, Hans-Peter Brenner confesses the real reason for Philipp’s cardiac arrhythmia – his addiction to pills. The doctors opt for further emergency operation, in which Philipp’s cycle comes to a standstill.

Dr. Kaminski is faced with further training that Dr. Anne Wieland heads. Kaminski tries to persuade Anne to make a small deal so as not to “steal time” from each other. However, the young doctor makes Kaminski clear that she is not the naive person for whom he thinks she thinks. For Kaminski, his approval is now at stake.
