During the riots in Alma-Ata, a judge of the specialized inter-district administrative city court, Murat Abraev, was killed, Tengrinews.kz reported.

On January 9, the Telegram channel “Sputnik Kazakhstan” with reference to the Ministry of Health of the country posted information about 164 dead. However, the department later denied this information, stating that there was a technical error.
According to the operational headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, 17 security officials were killed during the riots in the country.
