At the Azerbaijan State Theater for Young Spectators in Baku, work is underway on staging a new play based on the work of Suleyman Sani Akhundov and Abdulla Shaig “Qaraca qız” (Chernushka), the press service of the theater told Day.Az. At this stage, readings of the new production are taking place.

The play tells the story of a little, kind girl named Tutu. The baby was left an orphan, and the gypsies took her with them. Then on the way Tutu meets Huseingulu-aga, who sheltered the baby at home, where everyone begins to call her Chernushka.

There Chernushka meets a girl named Agdzha, the daughter of Huseingulu-aga. Despite the fact that the girls’ living conditions are completely different, this does not become an obstacle to their friendship. However, Agji’s mother, Perijakhan Khanum, did not like Chernushka and separated her friends. But one day, when Agja was in trouble, Chernushka did not hesitate to sacrifice her life to save her friend from death.

The production director of the play is People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Dzhannet Salimova, the production designer is Nisa Khatamova, and Irada Muradova is working on the musical design.

Honored artists Gamar Mamedova, Elnur Huseynov, Mehriban Abdullayeva, Gulyar Nabieva, actors Rashad Safarov, Ramig Nasirov, Khalida Alimamedova, Zemfira Abdulsamedova, Irada Rashidova, Adalyat Abdulsamed, Elgun Yahyayev, Asya Atakishieva, Nazrin Zeynalova, Anar Seyfullaev, Ramil will play roles in the play. Mamedov, Kenul Abilova, Simuzar Agakishiev, Zyumryud Gulieva, Aigun Fatullaeva, Hilal Damirov, Matlab Abushov, Nurana Huseynova, Gulbeniz Latifova, Yusif Dadashov, Khalig Bekirov.
