In Dinard (Ille-et-Vilaine), traders are carrying out an initial assessment of the spring holidays, Friday May 6. “It’s really great to be alone here, to have a clear view of the beautiful houses, of the sea”says a German tourist. “There were a lot of people the first weekend and since then there have not been many people”observes a Parisian.
“After two years when people have traveled very little, finally as everything is reopening internationally, we feel that (…) people are going back abroad”, Explain Bruno Vilt, director of the Thalasso & Spa Emeria hotel. Despite the good weather, his establishment was not full of vacationers during these two weeks. Election weekends have also reduced attendance. “This week, we were full almost every lunchtime”, reports Jean-Marie Fouilland, restaurateur in Ecuador. For him, the Easter holidays were satisfying. Summer should bring European tourists back to Brittany.
