## Airport Event: Celebrating RIX 50 Together!
Riga Airport proudly announces the upcoming event “The airport is closer than you expected: we celebrate RIX 50 together!” happening at the AB Dam on August 17th.
From 10 am, visitors can explore a diverse range of airport equipment, including aircraft and passenger service vehicles, which play a vital role in ensuring smooth flight operations. This unique opportunity allows you to get up close and personal with technology usually unseen outside the airport.
Technology enthusiasts will be able to enter the cockpit of a 45-ton tractor-aircraft pusher, a massive snow removal machine, explore a fire and rescue tanker, and even climb aboard an electric aircraft guidance vehicle.
The event will also feature various other activities, including a “silent disco” from 10 pm to 2 am on the AB dam.
In 2023, Riga Airport handled a total of 6.631 million passengers, representing a 23.2% increase compared to the previous year and 15% less compared to 2019.
Riga International Airport stands as the largest air traffic hub in the Baltic States.
