For twenty years, most of our cosmetics have contained UV filters. This fashion, according to which skincare and make-up products must offer sun protection, comes to us from the United States where, since 1995, journalist Paula Bégoun has led people to believe that, since UV rays damage the skin, creams must contain protective filters, whatever the weather!

The major French cosmetics brands having followed suit, UV filters are now found in most anti-aging creams, make-up products (BB creams, nail polish), but also in shampoos, and the majority of perfumes, to prevent their degradation by the sun… Only deodorants and toothpastes still escape this dictatorship.
