The Cypriot authorities have decided not to allow the matches between the two Israeli football teams in the country, which were planned within the framework of the Europa League, for security reasons. The Minister of Justice of Cyprus, Anna Koukidis-Prokopiou, informed about it.

“The most important thing for the state is the safety of its citizens. “Taking into account the available information, we have made a decision not to fulfill the requests to hold football matches with the participation of Israeli teams,” he said.

The Minister of Justice of Cyprus also noted that the police, due to the situation in the Middle East, is taking enhanced measures to ensure security in the country.
