“We start the working day with good news: the Antimonopoly Committee supported the transfer of the Dnipro-Western Donbas water channel from the state to the joint ownership of the territorial communities of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

This means that we have come much closer to solving the problem of water supply in the homes of about 300,000 residents of the region in the Synelnykivskyi and Pavlogradskyi districts,” Lukashuk wrote.

Details

The initiative is aimed at improving the management system in the field of ensuring the state’s water security, expanding the capabilities of local self-government bodies to ensure the modernization of drinking water supply systems and centralized drainage.

“The history of DZD is ancient. Before the full-scale invasion, the state-owned enterprise was regularly cut off from electricity due to debts. Of course, water supply to citizens’ homes also stopped. The regional council could not significantly influence the situation, because it had no powers. Therefore, we decided to act decisively. Two years ago, together with people’s deputies, they developed and submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law on amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On the Transfer of Objects of State and Communal Property” regarding the transfer from state to communal property of integral property complexes of water supply and sewage enterprises” – explained the head of Dnipropetrovsk OVA Mykola Lukashuk.

“The Verkhovna Rada voted yes, the President signed the law. The Antimonopoly Committee has had its say. Now we are waiting for the decision of the Cabinet. We hope for the positive, because having received “Dnipro – Western Donbas” into the joint ownership of communities, the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council will be able to modernize the enterprise, carry out the necessary repairs, and solve the debt issue. We expect a similar decision with regard to Kryvbaspromvodostavyna, the state-owned enterprise, the official added.
