(ANSA) – TURIN, AUGUST 29 – The European car market is almost at a standstill in July: registrations in the European Union, EFTA and the United Kingdom – according to data from ACEA, the association of European manufacturers – were 1,025,290 cars, equal to 0.4% more than the same month in 2023. In the first 7 months of 2024, 7,906,191 cars were sold, 3.9% more than the same period last year. The Stellantis group registered 152,830 cars in July in the European Union, 4.8% less than the same month in 2023. The market share fell from 15.7% to 14.9%. In the first seven months of the year, the group’s registrations were 1,298,102, down 0.5% on the same period of 2023. The market share is 16.4% against 17.1% a year ago. In July, battery-electric cars accounted for 12.1% of the European Union car market, down from 13.5% the previous year. Hybrid electric vehicles increased their market share, going from 25.5% to 32%.
