Unlimited calls and SMS, 10 gigabytes of data… Price of this package? 0 euro. Free announced on Tuesday the launch of a free package for Ukrainians arriving in France, fleeing the war in Ukraine. “Faithful to its values of mutual aid and solidarity”, Iliad (the parent company of the operation) “continues to support the Ukrainian community”, justifies the company in a press release.

The Ukraine Solidarity package – that’s its name – is not available online, but can be taken out in stores, explains the operator. It therefore includes unlimited calls from mainland France to Ukraine, 4 hours of calls per month to landlines and mobiles in mainland France and Poland (where many Ukrainian refugees live and where Iliad is the leader), SMS unlimited in France, Ukraine and Poland, as well as 10 GB of mobile Internet in 4G.

This package is only available, for the moment, for two months. “This mobile plan is valid from 03/29 to 05/31/2022. Beyond that, the package stops automatically without action on the part of the subscriber”, specifies the operator on its website. Any Ukrainian can benefit from it by presenting “a Ukrainian international passport” to an advisor in the store, specifies Free.

At the end of February, a few days after the start of the war, Free had already included calls and SMS to and from Ukraine in its various packages, avoiding any additional costs. The cheapest package marketed by Free is 2 euros per month and includes 50 MB of 4G, 2 hours of calls and unlimited SMS.
