Serious attack by a Chabad follower in the heart of the Crown Heights neighborhood: Yesterday (Wednesday) in the late afternoon (local time), Yosef Hershkop, a Chabad follower and community activist in the Crown Heights neighborhood, was beaten by three thugs.
The serious assault, which was recorded on security cameras, occurred after Hershkop’s car hit the attackers’ car while trying to park his vehicle on Montgomery Street.
The occupants of the vehicle demanded payment for the damage, which they claimed was caused to the vehicle.
At the same time, the thugs began beating Hershkop. They wounded him in the face and beat him vigorously, while his 5-year-old little son was in the vehicle watching what was happening.
The attacked devotee is evacuated by rescue workers to the hospital for medical treatment.
This morning Hershkop was released from the hospital. According to his acquaintances, he suffers from pain in the face and mouth area and is still required to be under medical supervision.
New York police have opened an investigation into the case and are conducting a manhunt for the vehicle recorded by security cameras.
