The police of the German federal state of North Rhine – Westphalia (NRW) on Saturday, March 12, and the night of Sunday, March 13, held the so-called Day of Combating Clan Crime. At the same time, 18 people were arrested during the day and another 27 people were preliminary detained.

According to the police report, searches took place at 159 properties across the federal state, including car salvage yards, hairdressers, restaurants, hookah lounges, betting shops and gambling halls. The raids were attended by 1,500 police officers and 300 employees of other departments, including customs, tax inspection and public order.

At the same time, 800 protocols on offenses were drawn up and more than 850 fines were issued.

Seized money, slot machines, knives and tobacco

Nearly 2,300 vehicles across the federal state were stopped during road checks aimed at combating speeding and posturing, nine of which were eventually confiscated. In addition, the police seized more than 100,000 euros in cash, 35 illegal slot machines, four knives and about 60 kilograms of untaxed tobacco.

“I am sure that this 24-hour marathon among the criminal families has a symbolic power that goes far beyond today. By doing this, we make it clear that we will continue in the same spirit,” said the Minister of the Interior of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Herbert Reul (Herbert Reul ), commenting on the results of the raids.
