In the Kondinsky district of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (KhMAO), eight people died as a result of poisoning with surrogate alcohol. A criminal case has been opened on this fact, the ICR department for the region reported.
According to the investigation, the residents purchased an unlicensed alcohol-containing liquid that poses a danger to life and health. As a result of its use on January 8 and 9, six men and two women died. The case was opened under Part 3 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (sale of goods and products that do not meet the requirements of the safety of life or health of consumers, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence).
As reported in the group of the administration of the Kondinsky district in the social network “VKontakte”, in total, 12 cases of poisoning were recorded in the region, of which eight were fatal. It is specified that the surrogate was sold in glass containers with a volume of 0.5 liters under the name “Tsar’s Hunt” with the image on the label of Peter I.
The regional prosecutor’s office organized an investigation into the poisoning.
