In Kottayam, a woman died of food poisoning: The hotel’s chief cook was arrested in Malappuram

Kottayam: The head cook of Malappuram Kokhimanti Hotel has been arrested in connection with the death of a young woman named Rashmi Raj due to food poisoning in Kottayam. Muhammad Sirajuddin, a native of Malappuram, was arrested. The police have registered a case of homicide in Rashmi’s death due to food poisoning and are investigating.

Sirajuddin was arrested from Kadampuzha in Malappuram district. Earlier, the police had arrested the owner of the hotel called Malappuram Kokhimanti. Kasaragod resident I.A. Latif was arrested. Nurse Rashmi Raj (33) of Kottayam Medical College Hospital, who was undergoing treatment after consuming Alfam, died on the 2nd of this month.

After Rashmi’s death, the DYFI activists who marched to the hotel had vandalized the hotel. Rashmi developed serious health problems after consuming Alfam ordered from the hotel on the 29th.
