The robot faced some technical issues before successfully making waffles for visitors. During the process, the robot accidentally dropped and cracked the fork due to a changed position. Since the fork was made of 3D printed plastic, the inventor, Jens Lindberg, considered adding reinforcements for the next version. The home-built robot typically resides in a garage in Harrbäcken outside of Piteå but made an appearance at Teknikens hus in Luleå where it flawlessly produced waffles in just 160 seconds. The robot was initially requested by an 8-year-old, Selda, who craved the treat. There has been significant public interest in the invention, according to Lindberg. A video showcasing how the robot bakes waffles and introducing its new abilities is also available.

There was a technical hassle for a while before the robot got on the right track when it came time to bake waffles for the visitors.

– A position had changed so the robot dropped the fork when it was going to put it back. Then it fell to the floor and cracked, because it’s just 3D printed plastic. You may have to make a reinforcement for the upcoming version, says Jens Lindberg, who is behind the invention.
