Between the suspicions of“aggravated fraud” Who weigh on the deputy La France Insoumise (LFI) Sophia Chikirou, targeted by a judicial investigation, and the controversy which is tearing apart the New Popular Ecological and Social Union (Nupes) following her positions on Hamas attacks against Israel, the return in France by Jean-Luc Mélenchon promised to be agitated, Monday October 10, after six days spent in Morocco. A journey marked by the kindnesses of the “rebellious” leader towards the Kingdom, where he was born.
First significant meeting, expected even if it was not on the program: that with the head of government Aziz Akhannouch, Friday October 6, at the headquarters of the National Rally of Independents, the party chaired by the latter. The “rebellious” leader then praised Morocco’s development efforts and its management of the earthquake. More surprising, however, was his interview in Casablanca with Fouad Ali El-Himma, the main advisor to Mohammed VI and childhood friend of the king.
The information was revealed by the online media Le Desk. The exchanges between the two men took place during a private reception organized at the home of Neila Tazi, the president of the foreign affairs committee in the House of Advisors, and her husband, Mohamed Abdi, a close friend of the founder of LFI and one of the organizers of his Moroccan tour. Former member of the French Socialist Party, Mr. Abdi served as chief of staff to Fadela Amara when she was Secretary of State in charge of urban policy (2007-2010) in the government of François Fillon. Today he advises Mochine Jazouli, the Moroccan minister responsible for investment, the only member of the government among the guests that evening.

Icy context of relations between Paris and Rabat
At the dinner table, which lasted three hours, were Farida Amrani, LFI deputy for Essonne, vice-president of the France-Morocco friendship group, Nabil Benabdallah, secretary general of the Party of Progress and Socialism, and Moroccan business figures: Miriem Bensalah-Chaqroun, former president of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises and member of the board of directors of the Renault group, and businessman Karim Tazi, among others. “All the guests told Mr. Mélenchon of the humiliation and bullying inflicted on Moroccans by the visa restriction policy desired by Mr. Macron”says Mr. Tazi, who adds that Mr. El-Himma, seated next to the “rebellious” leader, took part in the discussions, “just like the other guests”.
