On Tuesday, May 9, on the Narva-Narva-Jõesuu-Hiemetsa road near the place where the Soviet monument tank used to stand, road signs were installed prohibiting parking and limiting the speed to 30 km/h, reports ERR.
According to ERR’s Narva correspondent Sergei Stepanov, barriers have also been installed to prevent vehicles from entering the area where the monument tank was previously installed.
“The police do not restrict the movement of cars and pedestrians in Narva. However, we spoke with the local authorities about two places – the port of Narva and the former location of the tank – where there may be more people than usual on this day, and recommended that parking be limited to ensure traffic safety, ”commented to the rus.err.ee portal head of the Narva police department Indrek Puvi.
