MONTERREY, NL.- Nuevo León will connect directly with Canada thanks to the fact that Air Canadawill inaugurate the new Monterrey-Toronto route for next October.
The new route begins operations on October 29 with the Toronto-Monterrey arrival flight, it was detailed in the presentation made jointly by the airline, the state Ministry of Tourism and OMA Airports.
“Nuevo León has become a destination for millions of people who come to work, invest, do business and enjoy the attractions of our state. For this reason, today the Monterrey International Airport is the most important entrance and exit point in the north of the country and in the south of Texas”, highlighted Maricarmen Martínez, Secretary of Tourism in the state, in the presentation.

He indicated that in view of this scenario, work has been done on greater air connectivity.
“Today we are making history by announcing the operations of Air Canada, which will directly connect Nuevo León with Toronto for the first time, helping to strengthen commercial and tourist ties between Mexico and Canada,” he mentioned.
It established that Air Canada is the only Canadian airline that offers flights between that country and Nuevo León.
“With this new direct flight from Toronto we will connect with more than 50 destinations,” he specified.
Also present at the event were Sandra Shaddick, Consul General of Canada in Monterrey; Virgilio Russi, vice president of international sales for Air Canada; Enrique Navarro, Director of Operations and Airports, OMA and Luis Noriega, Director of Sales for Air Canada Latin America.

The route will fly four times a week and will be available year-round. The aircraft that will be used will be the Airbus A220 in two service cabins available: business class and economy class.
Users will have a total of 83 travel options because they can stay in Toronto or connect the same day with 28 destinations within Canada or continue their journey to 55 international routes.
The first arrival flight from Toronto will be on October 29 and the first Monterrey-Toronto flight will take place the following day.
There will be Toronto-Monterrey flights on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 6:00 p.m. and Monterrey-Toronto on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 10:10 a.m.
