The Pentagon has invested $5.3 billion since 2022 to expand missile production while providing military assistance to Kyiv, according to a report published by the US Department of Defense.

The report stated that “the United States invested $5.3 billion to expand domestic production, of ammunition or its components,” and according to the report, “the data reflects an increase in production capacity from 2022 to current rates.”

According to the report, “In 2022, the United States produced 14,400 155mm shells, five HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, and 21 Patriot systems per month. It is noted that currently, the production of 155mm shells has increased to 40,000 shells per month, the production of HIMARS systems up to eight per month, and the production of Patriot systems to about 42 per month.”

Earlier, a Pentagon statement said, “The United States is providing Ukraine with a new package of military aid worth about $250 million.”

According to the statement, “the new package will include HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, 155mm and 105mm artillery shells, Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems, Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, M113 armored personnel carriers, and mine-resistant vehicles.”
