The Spanish prodigy spoke after his victory over Ramos-Vinolas in the second round in Rome.
Carlos Alcaraz, after his victory in the 2nd round at the Masters 1000 in Rome which guarantees him to find the place of world N.1, in a press conference. “In just one year, I have grown a lot. I have more experience. I played great matches which made me progress, I am also more mature. I would say that, in a year, I have become a totally different player. A first match in a tournament is always difficult and even more so when the conditions are not easy. (…) It was a difficult day, waiting all day (because of the rain, editor’s note). I really wanted to play this game. But I managed very well (the wait, editor’s note). I kept calm watching videos, I watched the Moto GP with my trainer and a friend who is here. But it was still hard because I didn’t know if it would be possible to play or not. Finally, I played and I’m delighted! It was a very nice experience, the first time in Rome, on the center court. And people waited to support me. I’m super happy to be able to continue enjoying the fans more.»
