In PACE, Islamophobia has reached unprecedented proportions.

As Day.Az reported on Wednesday, the head of the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said this today during a weekly briefing, commenting on the PACE decision not to approve the powers of the Azerbaijani delegation.

She recalled that in January the so-called initiative group of PACE members challenged the powers of the delegates of the Milli Majlis.

“We proceed from the fact that everything that PACE is doing now is absolutely politicized. We all need an adequate assessment of what is happening in PACE: double standards, arrogance, Islamophobia. Although they attack Christian values, Islamophobia in PACE has reached unprecedented levels scale. It’s just become indecent,” Zakharova said.

Let us recall that on January 24, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe did not ratify the powers of the delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Against the backdrop of the existing atmosphere of unbearable racism, Azerbaijanophobia and Islamophobia in PACE, the Azerbaijani delegation decided to suspend interaction and presence in PACE for an indefinite period.
