The Primorsky Investigation Department on Transport of the Eastern Interregional SUT of the IC of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case on the fact of violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of maritime transport, which negligently caused the death of a person (Part 2 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), the agency reports.
The incident happened in the morning in the port of Zarubino. When unloading, the crab fisherman, who was standing at the pier, leaned over, lost his stability and sank.
The senior mechanic died. The captain of the ship with hypothermia was sent to the hospital.
An investigation team went to the scene of the incident, a prosecutor and operational services are working.
