The court took into custody the head of the Partizansky district of Primorye, suspected of abuse of office, RIA Novosti reports, citing the regional prosecutor’s office.
Lev Khamkhoev is suspected of terminating a fire safety contract for a more expensive one, after which its amount increased by almost nine million rubles.
The investigation believes that in March 2021 he terminated the contract with one of the commercial organizations on far-fetched grounds and secured the conclusion of a new one with a company whose representatives are on friendly terms with him.
Taking into account the opinion of the prosecutor, the court chose a measure of restraint in respect of the defendant in the form of detention for a period of one month and 30 days.
