In Rome, Arte in Nuvola is back, the great fair of Modern and Contemporary

by time news

After the great success obtained last year with the first edition, it returns to the capital ‘Rome Art in the Cloud‘, from 17 to 20 November, the exhibition-market dedicated to modern and contemporary art that offers a high-quality overview of all disciplines, from painting to installations, from sculpture to performance, from video art to digital art, to street art, bringing together the most important and renowned Italian and international galleries in the incomparable setting of the Nuvola designed by Massimiliano Fuksas, in the Roman district of Eur.

An initiative that aims to fill “a vacuum of proposals in the capital” and has the ambition to become “the reference pole of central and southern Italy”, making use of the curatorship of the art historian Adriana Polveroni and of the general management of Alessandro Nicosia, expert for over 30 years in the organization of cultural events and integrated communication. “Rome had been without a modern and contemporary art fair for years – underlines Nicosia in an interview with time.news – and beyond 25,000 visitors last year and the wide consensus from critics and gallery owners have proved us right on the proposed formula of a true art festival, so much so that this year we have already run out of spaces for a month, with 40 more galleries than last yearfor a total of about 150. We also had strong support from the gallery owners in the North who had been watching for a while in the first year “.

From the perspective of the multidisciplinary fair “the exhibition path will be scattered with installations by important Italian and foreign artists”. There will also be “live creation performances,” Nicosia adds. New this year are also “the exhibitions: one dedicated to Piero Doraziowhich presents 30 paintings by the master of Italian abstractionism, and one in collaboration with Euro Spa which offers an overview of design pieces and works of art kept in the buildings of the Eur. The largest, from mosaics to those that are more difficult to transport, will be the subject of projections “, explains Nicosia.

Another important piece of Roma Arte in Nuvola 2022 is the host country: “This year – underlines Nicosia – I wanted it to be theUkrainewhich we honored with an exhibition space made available to artists who had to flee the country due to the ongoing conflict “.

To complete the program of the exhibition-market “a program of talks, with a daily debate on the topics of greatest interest to the world of art that will involve prestigious guests”. Tickets to access the fair are on sale on TicketOne and “sales, when there are two weeks left to open, are already giving us great satisfaction”.

“For us – concludes Nicosia – it is important that this fair establish itself as one of the most important market exhibitions on the European circuit and that it is not limited to being a reference point for collectors and buyers but also becomes an interesting cultural event for the public, especially the younger ones, who, although unable to buy, intend to approach with a visit to the world of modern and contemporary. To pursue this goal we are committed throughout the year and we are already working on the 2023 edition which will have a great opening onto the Mediterranean and the ferments that run through it “.
