The dinosaur Henry is only 70 million years old and from 14 October he will be the guest star of the exhibition ‘Scientopolis, The City of Science’, an exciting interactive and engaging journey open to visitors and curious people to experience the universe of science, scheduled in rooms of the San Giovanni Addolorata Monumental Hospital Complex in Rome. The undisputed protagonist is the dinosaur Henry, a complete specimen of Hypacrosaurus, for the first time in the capital.
You will also be able to safely experience lunar gravity, admire a real 3 million volt Tesla Coil that hurls lightning bolts up to 5 meters away or immerse yourself in virtual reality to travel from the Big Bang to the Earth’s near future. Furthermore, thanks to a futuristic virtual reality system, it will be possible to relive the journey at sea until the tragic explosion of the Titan, the submarine that sank in June 2023 during a dive near the famous Titanic wreck.
The exhibition will be divided into four thematic areas: physics, astronomy, chemistry and biology, each with routes, interactive activities and guided tours. ‘Scientopolis’ is aimed at an audience of all ages, but in particular at schools and families to offer an educational and entertaining experience that can stimulate interest in science and research. The proposed activities and ‘exhibits’ are designed to be accessible and engaging for a wide age range, allowing children, adolescents and adults to learn and interact with the various scientific topics in an active, participatory and inclusive way.
The Evolution Park space, which can be accessed with the same ticket as the main exhibition, will join the ‘Scientopolis’ exhibition and will be totally dedicated to the evolution of life on Earth where visitors will be able to admire finds ranging from a unique collection of meteorites , to stromatolites that show the importance of the first life forms in the generation of terrestrial oxygen up to the incredible skeleton of “Henry”, the duck-billed dinosaur over 4 meters long, sworn enemy of the infamous Tyrannosaurus Rex.
