In Russia, a repeat of history – Kurier Wileński

The bestialization of Russian Wagner mercenaries has already manifested itself in Syria and Africa. I personally watched a video of a Syrian opponent of the al-Assad regime captured by the Wagnerites being hit on the arms and legs with a large hammer. After long tortures, interspersed with bursts of laughter and rude comments from the executioners, the Syrian died. One of the drunken Wagnerians cut off the head of a tortured man with a shovel. These non-humans are capable of any sadism. Fighting under the sign of the double-headed eagle of the Russian empire, they show the true face of this disgusting regime.

On Ukrainian soil, the dark symbols of their actions are Irpin and Bucha. The year 2023 marks the 90th anniversary of the artificial great famine in the Ukrainian SRS. At the turn of 1932 and 1933, several million people died there. The action planned by the communist authorities was intended to exterminate the Ukrainian nation. People ate people, the communist regime blocked Soviet Ukraine from any supplies. 90 years later, their successor, a KGB officer, Vladimir Putin (!) commits monstrous crimes in Ukraine. And in Russia itself, history is repeating itself. I believe that it can be called the introduction of neo-Stalinism with an admixture of chauvinistic doctrine of Great Russia. Russian citizens who have a different opinion about the policy of their country’s authorities are sentenced to long prison sentences and a penal colony with a strict regime.

The oppositionist Vladimir Kara-Murza Jr. was recently sentenced to 25 years for treason (I remember his father’s broadcasts on Radio Svoboda). In the Tula region, 13-year-old Masha Moskalova drew a picture condemning the war in Ukraine. Her father Alexei was accused of discrediting the Russian army and sentenced to two years in a penal colony. He was deprived of custody of his daughter, and Masha was first placed in a care facility, and then to her mother, who left her husband and daughter when she was only two years old. Masha’s mother said on television that she would keep her daughter out of politics. Following the gloomy patterns of the Soviet state of the 1930s, today’s Russia is surrounded by a wave of denunciations and arrests.
