In Russia, from March 1, the rules for state accreditation of educational institutions will be simplified

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin approved new rules for state accreditation of educational institutions. The measures have been prepared in accordance with the implementation of the new norms of the federal law “On Education”, which come into force on March 1, 2022, according to the government website.

According to the regulation, now schools, colleges and universities will undergo the state accreditation procedure only once – the issued certificate of accreditation will be valid indefinitely. The new measures are designed to reduce the administrative burden on educational organizations and allow them not to be distracted from their main work.

Educational organizations that have accreditation valid until March 1, 2022 will not have to get it again. Their certificates of accreditation will automatically become indefinite. It was decided to exclude redundant and duplicative requirements from the accreditation procedure.

The most important criterion will be the assessment of the quality of training of students and schoolchildren. To this end, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Education, together with Rosobrnadzor, have developed separate indicators for schools, colleges and universities. In addition, Rosobrnadzor will conduct regular monitoring to assess the quality of education in accredited organizations.
