Since the beginning of the spread of the so-called Indian strain of coronavirus across the world, 14 cases of infection with it have been registered in the Russian Federation. This was announced by Alexander Gorelov, deputy director for scientific work of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor.
According to the scientist, not a single case of re-infection with the same COVID-19 strain has yet been identified in Russia.
He noted that worldwide there are about 30 cases of re-infection to date. This number does not include cases of recurrent disease if it is caused by another – mutated – strain.
