The cost of one kilogram of tangerines in Russia now, on the eve of the New Year, is a quarter more than a year ago, according to RIA Novosti, citing experts who have studied the average prices of actual sales of offline retail in November 2020 and 2021.

“The average price for one kilogram of tangerines in November was 164 rubles. Over the year, the average price of tangerines has grown by 25% “- said in the company” Evotor “.

The maximum demand for tangerines is traditionally observed in Russia in November-December, recalled Dmitry Vostrikov, executive director of the Rusprodsoyuz Association of Producers and Suppliers of Food Products. According to the organization, the wholesale cost of a kilogram of tangerines is now in the range of 80-138 rubles. and averages 110 rubles. against 90 rubles. a year earlier.

The rise in prices for tangerines is primarily due to a reduction in their supplies from Turkey, Vostrikov explained. An additional impact on prices was also exerted by the increase in the cost of logistics. At the same time, the low purchasing power of the population is a deterrent in this case, the expert noted.

According to Evotor, the most expensive tangerines are those that come from Peru. In non-retail retail, these are sold at 269 rubles. per kg. The cheapest are brought from Georgia, their price is 103 rubles. per kg. Turkish tangerines cost an average of 152 rubles. per kg, and Moroccan – 183 rubles. per kg.

The highest price per kilogram of tangerines was recorded in Kamchatka – 334 rubles. The cheapest one can buy them in the Nizhny Novgorod region – for 146 rubles. per kg.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development, inflation in Russia reached 8.38% by November 29, while the Central Bank’s target was 4%. At the same time, in the food segment, it was even higher – 10.34%. Non-food prices for the year increased by 8.1%, services rose by 4.36%.
