In Saratov, a lawyer was detained on suspicion of attempted fraud. According to the regional department of the Investigative Committee, the lawyer illegally received more than three million rubles from a representative of one of the participants in civil proceedings.
According to investigators, the lawyer received money for making decisions by judges in favor of his client in civil cases. At the same time, according to law enforcement officers, the defender was not going to transfer money to anyone, so his actions are regarded as fraud.
The person who handed over the money to the lawyer acted as part of an operational event carried out by the FSB officers in the region. After receiving cash, the defender was detained. A criminal case was opened on attempted fraud on an especially large scale.
Since the beginning of the year, this is the second criminal case against representatives of the local lawyer community. Earlier, the head of a law firm was detained. One of the clients wrote a statement against him, who accused the lawyer of embezzling 52 million rubles.
