Dozens of people were treated after going into cardiac arrest in Seoul, capital of South Korea, on Saturday (October 29) during Halloween celebrations.

A spokesman for the fire brigade confirmed the facts, stating that one hundred and forty ambulances had been deployed to the Itaewon district to rescue the victims. About 50 people suffered a cardiac arrest at this place, where thousands of people were celebrating Halloween, according to the South Korean news agency Yonhap.

Photographs released by Yonhap show more than a dozen people lying on the ground and rescuers assisting them as police held the crowds at bay.

The victims appear to have been caught up in crowd movements.

South Korean President Yoon Seok-youl has asked that hospitals prepare to receive the injured, the presidency said.
