In shorts: the photo of the Finnish prime minister who lit the net

by time news

After being busy in recent weeks with talks to join Finland into the NATO alliance in the shadow of the war in Ukraine, Finnish Prime Minister Sana Marin (36) announced yesterday that she is going on her summer vacation until August 8, with her husband, Marcus Raikkonen (36).

The first stop of the two was the Roissrock Music Festival in Turku, on the southwest coast of the country. The festival organizers also noticed Marin and uploaded to her Instagram account a photo of her in a young and fashionable outfit with a leather jacket, shorts and boots.

The image spread quickly on social media and received enthusiastic responses from surfers in Finland and around the world. “Let’s name a cooler prime minister, I’m waiting,” tweeted one Finnish surfer. “Do not even try to pretend that your prime minister is even close to being as effortlessly cool as Sana Marin,” wrote journalist David Mack Dougal of the Euronews website.

“Sana Marin combines her various roles with great talent: a modern social media influencer, the Prime Minister of Finland, a successful leader in times of crisis and a young anarchist,” praised Iva Primer, director of the Institute of Environmental Policy in Finland.

The Twitter account covering the Wisgard countries – Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia – did not spare compliments either. “Joining NATO is hard work. “Sometimes you have to take time off on Saturday,” the tweet read.

Marin’s leather jacket has already aroused much interest when she was documented wearing it during a visit to Sweden with her colleague Magdalena Anderson last April. Credit company Clarina reported that following the filming, sales of leather jackets jumped 179 percent while motorcycle jacket sales rose 98 percent in the week following the visit compared to the previous month.
