In the courtyard of an apartment building in the Zadneprovsky district of Smolensk, a domestic car was parked. One morning the owner looked out the window, but he was not there. He was surprised because the car was not running. Nevertheless, he reported to the police. The amount of damage caused was declared at 65,000 rubles.
The detectives interviewed possible witnesses and eyewitnesses of the incident, checked the buyers of stolen goods. As a result, it turned out that a tow truck arrived in the yard of the house where the applicant lives, on which, presumably, the car was taken out. The tow truck was hired by a non-working, previously convicted resident of Smolensk, born in 1988. Operatives detained this citizen and took him to the duty unit to establish the circumstances of the incident.
During interrogation, he testified that he paid attention to this car, since no one drives it for a long time. He hired a tow truck and handed over the stolen goods to a scrap metal collection point.
