In Sucre they carried out cleaning days on the San Luis de Cumaná beach

With the objective of offering sanitized spaces and free of solid waste to locals and visitors during the holiday of the Greater Week, cleaning days were deployed at San Luis beach, located in Cumaná, Sucre state.

More than 120 volunteers from the Fundación Conciencia Ecosocial, the Ministry for Ecosocialism, the Office of Attention to the Citizen (OAC) of the Government of Sucre and the private company Naviarca deployed on the San Luis coast, in order to maintain the beach in optimal conditions, indicated the state coordinator of the Ecosocial Awareness Foundation, Marcos Marín.

He stressed that 80 volunteers from the mayor’s office of the Sucre municipality (Cumana) also joined the activity aimed at cleaning, beautifying and collecting existing waste on this emblematic beach, which expects to receive a significant number of tourists and locals during the high season. .

“We have displayed a very beautiful day because it guarantees the maintenance of our beaches, which allows them to be in good condition and draw people’s attention, we have all joined together so that in this Holy Week the people who visit this coast get the best impression. The idea is that they return and continue enjoying this tropical beauty that Cumana gives them with their family and friends,” said Marín.

He explained that during the day that is part of the “Clean Beaches” program promoted by the Fundación Conciencia Ecosocial, the sand was cleaned and the plastic and glass containers that were found on the coast and adjacent areas were collected.

They will remain deployed during the season

He affirmed that the collaborators will remain deployed during the Greater Week with the execution of days, in order to keep clean the beaches that are suitable for the healthy recreation of citizens. He stressed that they will also address other sites of tourist interest.

“Our mission is to guarantee the sanitation of these areas that are assisted by the population and provide dignified spaces for the enjoyment of those who, like every year, come together to celebrate the Greater Week in these spaces. All these days we are going to be deployed cleaning the beaches of our state, ”she emphasized.

Promote awareness campaign

In this sense, Marín said that they also promote campaigns to raise awareness among citizens about the care of beaches as a preventive measure for the protection of the environment and the preservation of marine biodiversity.

He emphasized the importance of collecting waste and waste in bags so as not to contaminate natural spaces and continue to preserve the beauty of these tourist attractions that serve as scenarios for recreation for locals and visitors.

In this way, he urged citizens to contribute to the cleaning of rivers and beaches, avoiding leaving waste and bottles, both glass and plastic, on the seashore, because they represent a great contamination for natural spaces.

“The responsibility of keeping the beaches, rivers and spas in optimal conditions depends on the citizens, which is why it is important to let them know the importance of not throwing garbage into these spaces. We have taken advantage of this season to continue to raise awareness among the population regarding the care of the seas, I call on them so that when they come to the beaches they bring garbage bags with them and at the end of their stay take back the waste left by the things they consume. We have to raise awareness, ”he specified.
