In Tetouan, the INDH is mobilizing in favor of hemodialysis patients without resources

Inaugurated in 2021, this center was built with a total investment of more than 15 million dirhams (MDH), including 14 million dirhams provided by the INDH, with an additional contribution from the provincial council amounting to 1.8 million dirhams.

The establishment thus opened its doors to 150 hemodialysis patients without resources from Tetouan and its surroundings, offering a capacity of 32 beds, including two intended for critical cases.

Managed by the Tétouan Renal Insufficiency Association (ATIR), this center required an operating budget of 3 MDH in 2023.

In a statement to MAP, the INDH program manager within the social action division at the Tetouan prefecture, Meriam El Messaoudi, stressed that the creation of this center is part of program 2 of the INDH, aimed at supporting people in precarious situations.

“This project has made it possible to generalize the services offered by the center to large sections of society, particularly people in precarious situations,” she rejoiced.

For his part, the head of the Boussafou hemodialysis center, Es-Seghyr Hryro Ahmed, highlighted the tripartite partnership between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the INDH and the ATIR, which gave place at an establishment open to hemodialysis patients without resources in the region.

According to him, this center, which has an emergency room for critical cases, has carried out more than 4,000 dialysis sessions in 2023.

Regarding staff, Es-Seghyr Hryro noted that the establishment has 20 employees (15 ATIR agents and 5 from the Ministry of Health and Social Protection).

“This last group includes a doctor, two multi-purpose nurses and two nursing assistants,” he said.

For her part, the representative of ATIR, Aassoum Samya, recalled that the management of the center is a partnership between the association and the provincial health delegation.

“ATIR takes care of the financial management of the center, as well as the medical costs of patients and certain raw materials used in the treatment,” she said.

On the occasion of World Health Day celebrated this year under the theme “My health, my right”, the INDH reaffirmed, Sunday in a press release, its firm determination to continue its efforts in concert with the Ministry of Health. Health and Social Protection, with a view to ensuring that beneficiary populations have equitable access to quality health services, in accordance with the High Guidelines of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
