The winner of the race immediately asked his colleagues to take a picture of him: breathing hard, leaning on the barriers of the track, he quickly shared the photo on social networks.

A Japanese man ran 100 kilometers in 6 hours. 42 min. and 19 sec. He overtook his main rival – Polish Dariusz Nozynski (6 hours 44 minutes and 30 seconds) – only in the penultimate lap. Tomas Bizimavičius from Kaunas crossed the finish line third (6 min. 48 min. 33 sec.).

“It’s hard to talk. It’s hard to believe what I managed to do on the track, said T. Somiya. – I decided whether to come to Lithuania or whether to participate in the run in the last days, because I doubted my possibilities after the illness. I took the risk, I felt that my body had recovered well enough. I succeeded! I can’t believe it.”

We will remind you that T. Somiya started running in his thirties, wanting to get rid of excess weight. “But later I became fascinated with ultra runners and set a goal to compete with them,” said the Japanese. – But usually my main goal on the track is to beat myself. This time I managed to do it. So now it’s fun. It’s the best feeling after a run, to feel good after a good time.”

We will remind you that Remigijus Kančys, 37, from Kaunas, won the 50 kilometer run, who managed to improve the national record held by Aleksandrs Sorokin. In the run held in Vingis Park, R. Kančys covered the distance in 2 hours. 49 min. and 11 sec. Brazilian Gabriel Bastos Barros was second (2 hours 58 minutes and 55 seconds), Arminas Rimkus was third (3 hours 20 minutes and 7 seconds).

“My career has been quite bumpy, but I have never lacked internal motivation,” R. Kanchys said after the finish. – I will admit that today’s result is very motivating. Maybe some people have already “written me off”, but I can say that there is still a beast in me that wants to show up and prove a lot.”

Deimantė Lūkinė from Vilnius won the women’s 50 kilometer run, covering the distance in 4 hours. 47 minutes 6 sec.

The “5×5” relay was won by the Kaunas team “Besivaikantys debesis” (2 hours 55 minutes and 2 seconds), the second was “Na pagauk” from Vilnius (2 hours 57 minutes 55 seconds), the third – “Sorokin Team” ( 2 hours 58 minutes and 23 seconds).
