In the men’s 15.6km (6×2.6km) distance, among the 25 participants, Lauris Kaparkalējs took the lead from the very beginning with a 20-second advantage after the first lap. The second place was won by Laura’s teammate from “ALL-ROUND Ski team/Madona” Sylvesters Švaukst, who improved by several places, because he was exhausted after the LOV tests on Saturday and took the sixth place. Silvestre, of course, was helped by the fact that he stayed behind Kaparkalės for a few laps, but Švaukst, who was in the thirtieth place in this year’s world junior sprint championship, would definitely and most likely be the second in the top three, only in an even more similar battle with the third place winner Indrikais Circenas.

Madonieta Auziņa beat her nearest competitor by one and a half minutes, winning the third gold in this summer’s Latvian championships.

Second and third place changed positions, that is, between the two best juniors. second place was won by Linda Kaparkalėja (ALL-ROUND Ski team/Madona), getting the junior gold, while in Saturday’s second best classic and junior champion Adriana Šuninska from Krāslava Sports School completed the top three, this time being the second among juniors. For the second day in a row, the representative of the adult group Samanta Krampe (SS “Arkadija”) took the fourth place.

At the beginning of the competition, a very similar battle for the fifth place and gold in the S18 youth group took place, but at the end of the second lap Valerija Burtseva from Crasova fell, so she finished seventh, but at least earned silver in the junior competition. Meanwhile, the 5th place was taken by the best junior Keita Marcinkeviča, followed by the third best junior Adriāna Osmane (SS “Arkadija”), who took the 4th place in her group on Saturday.

Valts Skujiņš (SS “Arkādija”) dominated both days in the V16 group for the youth, who was able to win the V14 group in the Latvian Mountain Biking Championship on Saturday. Lāsma Beķere won an intense battle for girls in this youth group yesterday, but in her absence today her teammate from “Madonas BJSS/Caune team” Alise Plāte. The winners changed in the V14 group, the fastest on the first day was Gustav Bērziņas, the representative of the Sports School of the city of Cēsis, but on the second day, his teammate Artūrs Zaķis overtook him by a few seconds. For girls of this age, Madonie Dārta Ruļuka remained unbeaten both days.

In the V12 group, the winners also changed for the boys, on the first day Miķelis Klimović showed the fastest time, and on the second day his teammate from CPSS Adrian Aven showed the fastest time.
