They are common these stories of brilliant inventions having obtained a distinction at the Lépine competition before being forgotten without any real consequences. This time, the innovation of the AML company in Doubs (Doubs), near Pontarlier, has every chance of bringing some prosperity to the company. “These are tens of thousands of units that will have to be produced,” explains Florent Dubois, at the head of this SME with 33 employees.

The invention, crowned with a gold medal, is a capsule that is placed in the “bottom” of bottles. “It is a mechanical system which makes it possible to determine whether a wine has undergone significant temperature differences during its transport. It is not a detail when a customer receives a bottle of 1000 euros or more, it must not be permanently damaged by transport. »

About fifty people needed for assembly

This kind of snitch for great wines will be sold between 15 euros and 20 euros each. The sponsor company Bocarnea, based in Larmor-Plage (Morbihan), intends to develop a market that looks very promising with AML in production.

“An initial order of 200,000 capsules is planned for 2024, adds Florent Dubois. Technically, we know how to do it and we can quickly train the staff. But it would be necessary to hire about fifty people for the assembly. Here, a few kilometers from Switzerland, the job market is very tight because of competition from Swiss salaries. We risk having to relocate far from the border, 80 or 100 km in France, to find people to employ. Or for lack of personnel, we will robotize the manufacturing while our project is to favor human intervention. »

In the meantime, AML does not give up and launches an appeal to find staff, at home, in Doubs in the Doubs.
