Protagonist with her much appreciated one woman shows in the theater and with her comic pieces and her hilarious imitations also on TV, Francesca Reggiani now also lands on bookshelves with ‘Spectacolare’, a book that mixes, with her unmistakable ironic key , the autobiographical story and the professional essay. A book co-written with his daughter Enrica Accascina, a promising cinema, TV and theater author. “Enrica, who has also been helping me in theater shows for some time, with a great gift of synthesis, has supported me – Francesca tells time.news – with her younger and more rhythmic vision. It all started as a game between us, but yes It turned out to be a wonderful adventure also to tell her some anecdotes that she had no memory of.”

Thus, with an intelligent and desecrating gaze, but also full of empathy, the actress retraces the stages of her life as an entertainer, ever since, at school, she seriously embarrassed her teachers by “simply looking at them in silence”. From Gigi Proietti’s workshop, to his debut with Fellini, to the parodies of ‘TV delle Ragazze’ on Rai Tre, including Katia Ricciarelli, Susanna Agnelli and Sabrina Ferilli, it has always been a genre of satire capable of capturing the grotesque aspects of current events, never superficial and always attentive to the profound motifs of comedy.

Among the parodies of the pandemic period, that of Professor Ilaria Capua and among the political ones that of Giorgia Meloni, with the double interview that pits her against Concita de Gregorio. In the book “there is no shortage of references to the various neuroses from which we are all affected, from cell phone and social media addiction, to the disastrous relationship with the climate and the environment, to the imperative of being engaged and, above all, young”. The book, which comes out in the Il Giullare series by La Lepre editions, is enriched by some QR-codes that refer to as many videos, taken from Francesca Reggiani’s shows. “It seemed like a very fun idea to me and when they proposed it to me I immediately said yes,” admits the actress. Among these videos also the updated version of the hilarious ‘double interview’ with Giorgia Meloni and Concita de Gregorio.

The final chapter of the volume is dedicated to the concept of satire, today increasingly grappling with ‘political correctness’, cancel culture and keyboard lions ready to crucify anyone. “We are formally free to say what we think, but we don’t really feel free to do so for fear of offending someone, especially today when haters have the ready click to criticize and condemn any position one takes: if someone says ‘long live plus sizes ‘There’s the skinny people’s association that uses bad words, if someone says ‘long live the skinny’ there’s a lot of overweight people who get offended. But not only that: everyone gets offended by everything, and everyone has something to criticize about everything, even when there is nothing to say.”

After the release of the book, which she will present with various meetings in different cities, Francesca Reggiani will naturally return both to the theatre, with two different shows planned this season, and on TV, she is a guest in several episodes of Serena Bortone’s new program ‘Che will be’. “The double dimension of theater and television incursions linked to satire on current affairs is my ideal habitat”, she confesses.
