The Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchange (DSE-CSE) ended the week’s last business day on Thursday (August 29) with indices rising. On this day, DSE and CSE saw an increase in transaction volume compared to the previous working day. However, the prices of shares of most companies and units of mutual funds that participated in the transactions in both the capital markets increased on this day.

According to DSE and CSE sources, at the end of the day, the main index of DSE DSEX increased by 47.70 points from the previous day and stands at 5 thousand 804 points. The DSE Shariah index increased by 6.89 points to 1,241 points and the DS30 index increased by 6.77 points to 2,124 points.

Shares and units of 397 companies were traded on DSE. Among them, share and unit prices increased in 298 companies, decreased in 67 and remained unchanged in 32.

A total of Tk 963 crore 26 lakh shares and units were traded in DSE today. Shares and units worth Tk 898 crore 64 lakh were traded on the previous working day.

On the other hand, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CSCX index increased by 71.50 points to 9 thousand 954 points. Overall index CASPI increased by 117.71 points to 16 thousand 520 points, Sharia index increased by 6.61 points to 1 thousand 47 points and CSE30 index increased by 64.39 points to 13 thousand 199 points.

Shares and units of 239 companies were traded on CSE. Among them, the share and unit prices of 153 companies increased, 70 decreased and 16 remained unchanged.

At the end of the day, shares and units worth Tk 13 crore 96 lakh were traded in CSE. Shares and units worth Tk 8 crore 22 lakh were traded on the previous working day.
