It is a nice story for this great company, well known in Brittany. Cottage, installed on the residential bridge of Pont-l’Abbé, the capital of the country Bigouden, created in 1936 specializing in both jewelry and decoration, attracted the attention of the traditional designer Parisian Christian Louboutin. This brand of haute couture, well known for its red pumps and handbags, has decided to entrust the production of very limited business bags, for the summer season, to the small Finistère team.

There are only six employees: Louise Lorgeau and Patricia Cassard (handcrafters), Marie Le Berre (seamstress and maker), Fabienne Kernéis (management assistant), Isabelle Frogeais (sales) and Thierry Morel, director. After a year and a half of hard work and undivided attention to detail, four series of ten gangster accessories, in this case small bags ” Breizcaba », came out of the Bigouden workshops.

Various beige colors for “Brittany bass richly decorated”, a pink madras for “Précieux apron”, a blue for “Glazig” and fuchsia for “Ploërmel”. The production processes are intended to be inspired by those of the traditional clothes of the country of Bigouden and the region of Pontivy (Morbihan). These little “jewels” at stratospheric prices are only available at Louboutin boutiques in Paris, London and Milan.

“We have a few examples of our own that we can admire in our window in Pont-l’Abbé,” says the company’s new director, Thierry Morel, with a smile. Originally from Loctudy, he studied at Oxford, lived in London for 20 years and took over Le Minor in 2019. With the aim of continuing to promote the Bigouden brand worldwide.

For the benefit of the great garden on the island of Batz was destroyed by Ciaran

“It’s a great recognition for us,” he continued. Le Minor has always been influenced by art and Brittany. Its creator, Marie-Anne, was afraid to see the craft of embroidery disappear while traditional clothes became less and less worn. Other pieces, for other industrial uses, have been born. »

Tablecloths, cushions, but also tapestries, and the famous kabic. Important collaborations with known artists have been established over time, from Mathurin Méheut to Pierre Toulhoat. “We take our Bigoudène origins but, for all that, we do it right! We often collaborate with contemporary artists… and creators. » A project with a big name in fun will also be announced after the summer.

Meanwhile, Christian Louboutin has announced, according to information from Telegram, part of the profit from the sale will be donated to the large garden on the island of Batz. Good news for this little gem of northern Finistère, unique in its kind, which is 70% devastated by storm Ciaran.
