The newly inaugurated president of Argentina, Javier Mileysigned his first decree in Pink House, reducing the number of ministries from 18 to 9. The objective of the decree is to rationalize and make the actions of the National State more efficient, according to the text. The extinct folders are: Education; Work; Environment and Sustainable Development; Science, Technology and Innovation; Culture; Women, Gender and Diversity; Tourism; Sport; and Territorial and Housing Development. Security, Justice, Economy, Foreign Affairs, Interior, Health and Defense will remain in operation. In addition, two new ministries were created: Human Capital and Infrastructure. The Ministry of Human Capital will have powers over education, culture, working relationships and conditions, social security, food security, poverty reduction, development of equal opportunities and access to housing. In other words, the portfolio will incorporate the former Ministries of Social Development, Education, Labor, Women and Culture.

The former Ministry of Science and Technology will be absorbed by the Chief of Staff, while Tourism and Environment and Sustainable Development will be incorporated into the Ministry of the Interior. Of the four State Secretariats, one of them, Strategic Affairs, will now report to the Head of Cabinet, while the other three will have the position and hierarchy of a ministry. The decree also establishes that the budget allocations, organizational units, assets, personnel and team of the extinct ministries must be transferred to the corresponding secretariats. Despite the reduction in the number of ministries, a significant reduction in personnel and items is not planned. The Energy Secretariat, which would initially be part of the Ministry of Infrastructure, will remain within the Ministry of Economy, due to bureaucratic issues. It has not yet been defined when the migration of ministries to the corresponding secretariats will occur, but it is estimated that this will occur in the coming months.
