This is evidenced by BPN’s analysis of quotations issued by head offices of Belarusian banks.

In January, the dollar fell by 1.69% (to 2.6737 rubles), in February – by 4.61% (to 2.7970), in March – by 1.81% (to 2.8475), in April – by 1.48% (to 2.8897), in May — by 0.81% (to 2.9132), in June — by 4.23%.

During the 6 months of 2022, the average quotation of the cash dollar decreased by 0.32% (from 2.5674 to 2.5591 rubles), according to the results of the year, it increased by 5.93%. In 2021, the cash dollar fell by 1.99%, in 2020 it rose by 23.94%.

The official exchange rate of the US dollar in Belarus for the first 6 months of 2023 increased by 10.88% (from 2.7364 to 3.0315 rubles). This is the second indicator in the territory of the former USSR, according to a comparative analysis of central bank quotes for December 31, 2022 and June 30, 2023 conducted by BPN.

Russia is in first place with 23.74% (from 70.3375 to 87.0341 rubles). The dollar also appreciated in Tajikistan by 6.97% (from 10.2024 to 10.914 somans), Uzbekistan by 2.34% (from 11,225.46 to 11,488.12 soums) and Kyrgyzstan by 1.81% (from 85 .68 to 87.2267 som).

The official exchange rate of the dollar has not changed in Azerbaijan (1.7 manats), Turkmenistan (3.5 manats) and Ukraine (36.5686 hryvnias). In Azerbaijan, the exchange rate has not changed since March 7, 2018, in Turkmenistan – since January 1, 2015, in Ukraine – since July 21, 2022.

The dollar fell in Kazakhstan — by 1.84% (from 462.65 to 454.13 tenge), in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia — by 1.85% (from 0.9376 to 0.9203 euros), in Armenia — by 1, 91% (from 393.57 to 386.06 drams), Georgia – by 3.12% (from 2.7020 to 2.6177 GEL), Moldova – by 4.60% (from 19.1579 to 18.2774 lei ).

In June 2023, the dollar in Belarus appreciated by 3.73% – the second place after Russia (7.87%).

According to the results of 2022, Belarus took the third place in the territory of the former USSR in terms of the growth of the official exchange rate of the dollar (+7.39%).
