In the first week of July, the first month of the current financial year 2024-25, 375 million US dollars remittances have arrived in the country through legal channels. An average of 6.17 million dollars remittances have come every day. In local currency (118 taka per dollar) which amounts to taka 4 thousand 372 crores.

This information is known from the updated report published by the Central Bank on Sunday (July 7).

After reviewing the data of the Central Bank, it was found that the amount of remittances received in the first week of July was 3 crore 72 lakh 60 thousand US dollars through state-owned banks, 2 crore 86 lakh 80 thousand US dollars through a specialized bank, 30 crore 33 crore through private banks. Lakh 10 thousand dollars and 12 lakh 80 thousand US dollars remittance came through foreign banks.

Earlier, in June, the last month of the recently concluded financial year 2023-24, remittances came in at USD 254 million. Which is the highest remittance in the last three financial years. As a single month which is the highest remittance in 47 months.

197 crore 31 lakh in July, 159 crore 94 lakh in August, 133 crore 43 lakh in September, 197 crore 14 lakh in October, 193 crore in November, 19912 crore in December, 211 crore 31 lakh in January, 216 crore 45 lakh in February , 199 crores 70 lakhs in March, 204 crores 42 lakhs came in April, 225 crores 38 lakhs came in May.
