France is suffocating. The hot weather continues to hit France, this Wednesday, August 23. In total, nineteen departments have been placed on heatwave red vigilance (Ain, Loire, Isère, Lozère, Gard, Vaucluse, Hérault, Aveyron, Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne, Aude, Lot, Lot-et-Garonne, Haute -Garonne and Gers). They thus join the Ardèche, the Drôme, the Haute-Loire and the Rhône. This Tuesday, several records were broken, such as in Orange (Vaucluse), where it was 42.7 ° C or in Durban-Corbières (Aude), with its 42.5 ° C. The thermometer even climbed to 43 ° C in Puy-Saint-Martin (Drôme). READ ALSOHeat wave: why is the southern Rhône valley often the hottest point in France?

India on the Moon. If all goes well, this Wednesday, India will land Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon, an unmanned rocket. This mission, which costs 74.6 million dollars (66.5 million euros), according to the media, aims to explore the lunar surface. Developed by the Indian Space Research Organization, Chandrayaan-3 includes a moon landing module named Vikram, which means “valour” in Sanskrit, and a rover, a mobile robot, Pragyan (“wisdom” in Sanskrit). The rover must complete its task for one lunar day, the equivalent of fourteen Earth days. A first attempt by India to carry out a controlled moon landing failed four years ago when the ground crew lost contact shortly before landing on the Moon. How India becomes the 3rd world power

Zimbabwe at the polls. On one side, there is Emmerson Mnangagwa, 80 years old and outgoing president. On the other, Nelson Chamisa, a 45-year-old lawyer and pastor and opposition figure. Zimbabweans are being called to the polls on Wednesday. But after a campaign marked by banned opposition rallies and arrests, in a country already plagued by a long history of flawed elections, few believe that the opposition will emerge victorious from the ballot. And serious irregularities have been noted on the electoral lists, which raise fears of a ballot played in advance. Yet the opposition hopes to surf on a discontent so powerful that it will result in a strong turnout, or even a victory.

Anatomy of a fall. Three months after winning the Palme d’Or, Anatomy of a fall, by French director Justine Triet, is released this Wednesday in cinemas. A trial film, initially thought of as a series, the film takes its time (2h32) to meticulously dissect the balance of power and domination within a couple of wealthy artists. Drawing inspiration from news items, director Justine Triet retraces the trial of a German author accused at the assizes of the murder of her husband, in their chalet in the French Alps. In the absence of witnesses, except their son, a visually impaired child, justice will dissect the life of the couple whose arguments were recorded by the husband. And reveal all the power relations, neuroses and hidden flaws.
