The state of emergency (ES) is introduced on the territory of the Kursk region due to the arrival of residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR) in the region. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. Earlier, the state of emergency was introduced by the authorities of the Voronezh and Rostov regions.

“Currently, due to the arrival of a large number of citizens of Donbass, a regional emergency regime has been declared in a number of regions of the Russian Federation – Rostov, Voronezh and Kursk regions,” the report says.

The heads of the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR last Friday, February 18, announced the evacuation of the civilian population to the territory of Russia. This decision was made in connection with the aggravation of hostilities. All arriving residents will be accommodated in year-round children’s camps, as well as in boarding houses. They will be provided with hot meals, bed linen and basic necessities. Also, on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, citizens will receive financial assistance in the amount of 10 thousand rubles.

According to the Acting Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia Alexander Chupriyan, more than 53 thousand people arrived in Russia from Donbass.
